beyond next level

mental health care should never be out of reach.

We're a New York nonprofit bringing free and low-cost therapy to the people the system keeps leaving out.

care that doesn't ask who you are first.

Beyond Next Level expands access to culturally responsive, clinically sound mental health care for communities the behavioral health system has historically excluded or underserved: immigrants and undocumented New Yorkers, Black and brown women navigating pregnancy and postpartum, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

We remove the financial, language, and systemic barriers that keep people out of therapy, and we deliver care with dignity.

online across new york. in person if you want a door that closes.

Sessions happen virtually anywhere in New York State, or in person at our offices in Irvington (Westchester) and Midtown Manhattan.

Some people can't get across town for an appointment. Some can't take time off work. Some aren't safe being seen walking into one. We built for all of them.

new roots

You're allowed to put down roots here. Short-term mental health care for immigrants, refugees, and mixed-status families, regardless of documentation status.

this is about health, not status.

Migration can mean violence, separation, and loss before you ever arrive. Then comes a new language, new work, and new roles in your own family. Add a climate of enforcement and uncertainty, and the anxiety doesn't switch off.

New Roots exists so that cost, paperwork, and the fear of being asked the wrong question don't stand between you and care.

the becoming project

Maternal mental health care from pregnancy through the first year postpartum.

the whole journey, not just the delivery.

In New York State, Black and brown women face disproportionately higher rates of maternal death and serious complications. That weight sits on top of everything pregnancy and a new baby already bring.

The Becoming Project will center the full perinatal journey, from the first trimester through the first year with your baby, with a particular focus on Black and brown mothers.

We're designing it now. Join the list to hear when it opens, or reach out if you're a provider, doula, or organization who wants to help shape it.

healing, without the silence.

Too many survivors reach out for help and find systems that weren't built for them. Unbound is for survivors who have historically been underserved: women of color, LGBTQ+ survivors, and male survivors.

Therapy here will be free, culturally affirming, and trauma-informed, with clinicians who understand that healing doesn't look one way.

The name comes from the memoir of Tarana Burke, the Bronx-born survivor and activist who founded the Me Too movement in 2006 to create pathways to healing for young women of color. Unbound means freedom from the silence, shame, and neglect that keep survivors out of care.

about us

The nonprofit affiliate of Next Level Mental Health Counseling, built to take care further than insurance and income allow.

why we exist.

Immigrant communities, Black and brown women, and survivors of gender-based violence are among the people least likely to get mental health care. The reasons are concrete: cost, language, stigma, fear around documentation, and too few clinicians who reflect their lives.

We remove those barriers and deliver care regardless of ability to pay or immigration status.

who's behind it.

Beyond Next Level is a registered 501(c)(3), affiliated with Next Level Mental Health Counseling, a New York group practice of 60+ clinicians. Our programs run on Next Level's clinical team and infrastructure.

We're funded through private foundation grants, government grants, and direct support from Next Level Mental Health Counseling.
